Research first, revenue second

Who writes this

I'm Shelzy Perkins. I spent a decade inside financial services — on the product and marketing side — before I started this site. I saw how the incentives worked, and I wanted to build something that worked differently.

Shelzy Finance exists to give people the same caliber of financial research that wealthy clients pay advisors for, without the upsell at the end.

How we pick products

Every product on this site gets evaluated against a structured rubric. For banking products, that means APY vs. the national average, fee schedules, withdrawal restrictions, and FDIC/NCUA insurance status. For credit cards, it means a real net-value calculation at common spend levels. For investing accounts, it means total cost including expense ratios, platform fees, and tax-loss harvesting access.

No product pays to appear on a list. Our rankings are based on the data.

How we make money

If you click a link on this site and open an account, we may earn a referral fee from the financial institution at no cost to you. These fees do not influence our rankings or editorial decisions. We label affiliate relationships clearly on every page where they appear.

We never accept payment for placement. If a product would rank first without a referral deal, it ranks first. If a product is not competitive, it does not appear on the list — even when the company offers to pay us.

How often we update

Rates change. Fees change. Bonus structures expire. We review every article at minimum once per quarter and update immediately when a product changes materially. Each article shows a “last reviewed” date so you can tell how fresh the information is.
